Oye Santa Singh!

On the personal front, there’s a heck of a lot of chaos right now: we’re moving back to Bangalore after two very enjoyable years in Mumbai, and there seem to be a gazillion things to do before we drive out on Christmas morning. I doubt I’ll be able to even think about blog posts for a few weeks.

Which is why it feels absolutely wonderful when someone sends me a gift! It’s a scene I mentioned in a freeze frame post ages ago, so I love it. On top of which, it’s a virtual gift, so I can put it up and feel like I’ve posted something 😀

    Have a safe and not too-stressful move!

    You’re probably already doing this, but my two cents worth of moving advice: first, list EVERYTHING; where kitchen stuff is, what is in box m or suitcase q, etc. Also, make sure you have atleast two copies of the important paperwork in case one gets lost in the shuffle.

      Seriously though, thanks for the advice. Amazing how much stuff accumulates in a small house over a few years. There must be some damn law of physics it breaks along the way.

    Hey, a road trip down the west coast sounds awesome!

    The only time I’ve ever been to Bombay was by Dadar in ’89 (it was only my second visit outside of TN at that point, the first being a treat of a train trip to Trivandrum — God’s Own Country, indeed! — in ’87).

    But as it turned out, midway during the trip, a major storm hit and our train was diverted, causing a day’s delay. But the upside was the four of us got to see rural Maharashtra in a way we never would have, otherwise.

    Aside from scrimping and scrounging for food, it was quite an adventure once the initial tensions (dad was all “omg, this is effing insane…what are we gonna do?”) wore off; we pretty much resigned to the fact that this was it and we’d better enjoy the sights without whining.

    Coming back to *your* trip, oh boy, has it been TWO years? Time flies. I remember, you were really tentative about being displaced (not so much from B’lore as) from a job you’d been enjoying for 5 years, that your boss wanted you to do the long-distance thing and you weren’t so sure…and then, see? It all seems to have worked out well!

    Wonder how you’re taking to the thought of finding yourself back in a formal office environment (different clothes, different folks) after a 2-year pajama party, so to speak. 😀
